first issue for 2009, happy new year! this year is set to be a big one for watim and the whole australian art scene in general, with more artists, events and galleries emerging in all corners of the country. this issue we have interviewed five more talented australian artists, first is the lovely ainslie fletcher who is an artist/designer originally from sydney now residing in torquay. next we have the talented justin williams from the hills outside of melbourne, followed by one of sydney's most proactive street artists and oh really gallery co-owner, ears. then we feature stencil artist pioneer regan 'haha' tamanui who is currently working in sydney, and we interviewed perth local skateboarder, artist and all round crazy guy, twenty eleven. the artwork gallery section features new work by various australian artists including reka, phibs, bridge, smc3, john doe, ape seven, ben frost, beastman, gimiks and more. and this issue's photo gallery is by the young upcoming sydney based photographer alex bloom. australian artists email us some samples of your work to be part of future issues. please contact us if you are keen to help us out in any way or would like to get involved in our upcoming projects. the [weAREtheIMAGEmakers] book project is coming in 2009 as well as our annual 12x12 show (the line-up is looking killer!) and other events soon to be announced. stay tuned to our home page blog to get the heads-up on upcoming art exhibitions and events all over the country. until next time, happy new year - be
