happy new year and welcome to the all girl issue of [weAREtheIMAGEmakers]. to coincide with our upcoming all girl exhibition called GRRRLs we decided to dedicate this entire issue to female aussie artists. the GRRRLs exhibition opens on friday 8 february 6pm-9pm at aMBUSH gallery in waterloo, sydney. the show will feature original artwork by a selection of australia's finest female artists - akina, andrea innocent, brooke bobridge, eugenia tsimiklis, kareena zerefos, lillian piri, love ariel, mel stringer, mini graff, nanami cowdroy, rebecca wetzler, smitten by stephanie and team kitten. for this issue we interviewed five of the GRRRLs participating artists - akina, andrea innocent, kareena zerefos, mel stringer and smitten by stephanie. the artwork gallery section features images by aussie female artists in the GRRRLs show and from all over the country. and this issue's photo gallery features images of girls by sydney based photographer cybele malinowski. if you're an australian artist or photographer, email us a link or some samples of your work to be part of future issues. thanks to all those that have sent in your work, we can only include so many images, so if you didn’t get a reply email, resubmit some more images sometime.
