
welcome to the first issue for 2007, hopefully this year doesn't go as fast as the last. for this issue, i managed to track down sydney street artist kill pixie for an interview, he was hiding deep in a cave underneath the city. be sure to check out his collaboration exhibition with ed woodley later this month at china heights gallery in sydney. also interviewed for this issue is the stylish luke feldman or 'skaffs', who designs adorably cute, luscious and bizarre illustrations. originally from the UK, street artist dyzla is currently painting his nature inspired graffiti up in sunny queensland. we also interviewed jirat james patradoon from sydney with his large format, comic book inspired character screenprints. and last up, andrew stark has been shooting photos on the streets of sydney for over 20 years, his candid black and white images really capture the gritty, bustling city life. the artwork gallery section in this issue feature images by a range of aussie artists including myself, creepy, edla, daniel o'toole, tim molloy, tom o'hern, seldon hunt and more. this issues photo gallery features some of australia's best emerging photographers such as rose martland, sarah holmes, cybele malinowski, jenna macintosh, justin ridler and more. we always welcome contributors for the site, so if you're an australian artist, designer or photographer, email us a link or some samples of your work to be part of future issues. submission details are on the home page. thanks to all those that have sent in your work, we do get a lot of submissions, but we can only include so many, so if you didn’t get a reply email, resubmit some stuff sometime. thanks to all the supporters who have given us links etc. [weAREtheIMAGEmakers] is a non-profit online publication, so we really appreciate the support from all those who have and are promoting us both off and online. all you viewers check out the sites of our supporters. please contact us if you are keen to help us out in any way. we can also be found within the arsehole of the internet - myspace. catch - be
