[weAREtheIMAGEmakers] (WATIM) is an online publication which promotes australian artists, illustrators, designers and photographers. WATIM provides a platform for both established and emerging australian creatives to show their work to a worldwide audience online.
since WATIM was launched in 2005, we have showcased the work of over 150 australian creatives and published a new issue every couple of months, each featuring interviews with some of australia’s most talented artists and photographers. the site now also acts as an online database of creative aussies, providing great exposure and support for local artists, projects, exhibitions and events.

WATIM organises and promotes exhibitions, events and projects all over australia including the annual 12x12 exhibition. click the links in the right column to view images and artwork from these exhibitions.
the first official WATIM event was the inaugural 12X12 exhibition which was held at sydney's aMBUSH gallery in july 2007. the show featured 12 australian artists and each artist exhibited 12 paintings each on 12X12 inch canvases. the 12 artists were ant keogh, arnie arnold, beastman, ben frost, creepy, dyzla, eamo, kid9, numskull, trent whitehead, reka and yok. a few of the pieces in the exhibition are shown below.

after the successful 12X12 exhibition in 2007, 12X12 was held again in 2008 with a fresh new line-up of australian artists including apeseven, ghostpatrol, jae copp, james gulliver hancock, jeremyville, junior, luke feldman, miso, paul meates, plump oyster, sam smith and smc[3]. the exhibition was held again at aMBUSH gallery in sydney and also at no vacancy gallery in melbourne through june and july 2008. a few of the pieces in the exhibition are shown below.

12x12 will be happening again in 2011 with a fresh new line up of australian artists - daek, drewfunk, ears, edward woodley, gary seaman, gimiks born, mark alsweiler, rone, sean morris, shannon crees, shida and troy archer - opening 22 july 2011 at ambush gallery in sydney - more info soon.
