the 12X12 exhibition was the first official [weAREtheIMAGEmakers] event and was held at sydney's aMBUSH gallery in july 2007. the exhibition featured 12 australian artists who each did 12 artworks on 12x12 inch canvases. with a total of 144 canvases by some of australia's best emerging and established artists, the show was an excellent representation of what's currently happening in the australian art scene.
we really wanted to make our first event a big one, and the overall concept, along with the great artists involved, their range of unique styles and the sponsors who supported the show, all ensured that the 12X12 exhibition was a great success! the 12X12 exhibition stays true to WATIM's principles by helping emerging artists get more exposure by way of exhibiting their work alongside more recognised artists. all profits made by WATIM from exhibitions and events will be put towards more exhibitions, events and projects which will further promote emerging australian creatives.
those of you who couldn't make it to aMBUSH gallery in sydney to check it out in person, this is your chance to view all the artworks in the show!
remaining artworks from the 12X12 show are now available from 696 gallery, 696 sydney road, brunswick (melbourne). there are still pieces available by ant keogh, creepy, eamo and numskull.

WATIM will be repeating the 12X12 exhibition in 2008, with 12 different australian artists on the roster. we've already got some great australian artists lined up for the show. 12X12 proved to be an excellent concept for a group exhibition, and we felt it's a great way to help emerging australian artists gain more exposure by showing their work alongside more recognised artists.
